Getting Started Q: I am new to the TECC website. Where do I start?
A: Simply click on Register Today or add the items you want to your cart and click on the Cart icon. Then click on the Checkout button and fill out the form to register for a new account and proceed to complete your order. Q: What if I do not want to order or register, but just want to browse your site?
A: You don’t need to register to search or browse the site. You’ll just need to register to check out and use the advanced features on the site, such as adding materials to Your Favorite Materials list. Q: I am a returning TECC web customer. How do I log in?
A: Click the Sign In button in the upper right corner, then type your email address and password to sign in. Q: What if I have forgotten my log-in info?
A: Go to the "Forget your password?" section of the login screen and enter your zip/postal code and email address. Your password will be emailed to you.
How to Search Q: I know the title or title number of the item I want. How can I find it quickly?
A: Type the title or title number into the Keyword box in the grey Search-By bar and click Go. Q: What if I am getting no results when I search?
A: Make sure you have cleared the grey Search-By bar by clicking on Home in the list of links below the TECC logo. Or select "All" in the Subject, Format and Language boxes in the grey Search-By bar. Q: What if I still cannot find what I am looking for?
A: Try selecting the drop-down menu in the Subject box in the grey Search-By bar. It shows every subject we offer. Q: What if I want to see only brochures, or only posters, or only materials for a specific population?
A: Select the type of material you want by clicking the Format in the View Materials By… section of the navigation bar on the left of the screen. Q: How do I find materials in other languages?
A: Select from one of 12 (including English) languages using the language browsing options in the navigation bar on the left of the screen, or by using the advanced searching options (click more search options in the top search bar). We offer 129 titles in languages other than English, of which 39 are bilingual or multilingual.
How to Order Q: How secure is it to order online?
A: The TECC catalog website uses secure communication and encrypts all data to and from the site. Q: How do you address privacy?
A: TECC is committed to protecting your personal information. Please read our privacy policy. Q: What if I cannot or do not want to use a credit card to order online?
A: You can place your order and charge it to your credit card by calling our customer service representatives at 1-800-258-9090 ext. 103 or 230. You can mail or fax your order by printing a blank order form, and completing with credit card and other information. You can also complete your order online and use the Print and Fax option when checking out. When we receive your order we will hold it until a copy of an order form with your credit card information is faxed to us, or the full amount in the form of check, cashiers check or money order is received. Our customer service fax number is 831-438-1442. Q: Do you take purchase orders?
A: We take purchase orders from customers who have established open accounts with us. An open account requires paying the whole amount within 30 days from the day that your order is shipped to you. You may download a Credit Application Form from our site. Complete the application and mail or fax it to our customer service department. Credit approval may take up to three weeks. Agencies funded by the California Tobacco Control Program do not need to apply for an open account. Q: What about sales tax?
A: California customers will be charged applicable sales tax. Q: Why are prices higher outside of California?
A: TECC is supported by a grant from the California Department of Health Services, which is funded from a California tax on tobacco products. This tax subsidizes the development and production of tobacco control materials within California. Q: Can any of the material be returned?
A: Yes, if the return is reasonable. Within 15 days of receipt, you can return any items that have not been customized for you, damaged, or used. After the returned material passes our inspection, we will give you a credit towards your next order or send you a refund. See the Return Policy Form for instructions and information on returning materials. Q: Can I order free samples before I purchase?
A: Yes. You can request a limited number of certain materials (e.g., brochures and some cards) for review with an intent to purchase. Just click the Add Sample button below each material. Q: How do I request a catalog?
A: Request a catalog through the Contact Us page. Q: Do I order free materials the same way as other materials?
A: Yes, however there will still be a shipping charge (please see rates on the blank order form).
Checking Out Q: I have added items to my cart. How do I check out?
A: Click the Checkout icon in the upper right corner.
Shipping Q: When will I receive my order?
A: We generally ship your materials via UPS within 2 business days after we receive your order. Delivery may take up to two weeks, depending on your location and the season. We also offer Overnight, Second Day and Third Day shipping options at an additional charge, which is calculated based on your location. Q: How do I determine my shipping cost?
A: After entering your billing and shipping information during checkout, click Next and then select a shipping method from the drop-down menu. The shipping cost will automatically appear in your Order Total. If you change your shipping methods, your shipping cost will be automatically recalculated.
Customizing Materials Q: Can I get my materials customized with my organization’s name, local information, and other special messages?
A: Yes, on most items. Contact customorders@tecc.org for more information. TECC can also provide other kinds of promotional items that are not in our catalog, which can be customized to your needs at low prices. View more information.
Submitting Materials to TECC Q: Is TECC interested in adapting materials from other agencies?
A: Yes, TECC is always interested in seeing what other agencies are developing. If the material passes our review process and is approved by the California Tobacco Control Program, we would negotiate distribution with the developing agency.
